The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting will be open to the public again Wednesday after the beloved holiday event was scrapped due to COVID-19 last year.

The star of the Big Apple’s 89th annual tree lighting is a 79-foot tall, 85-year-old Norway Spruce, which was donated by a family from Elkton, Maryland.

To kickoff to the yuletide season, the tree will be illuminated with 50,000 lights and topped with a dazzling 900-pound star made with 3 million Swarovski crystals.

The festivities run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday outside 30 Rockefeller Plaza, between West 49th and 50th streets and Fifth and Sixth avenues in Midtown.

The towering tree will also be lit up daily from 6 a.m. to midnight, according to the Rockefeller tree lighting website. On Christmas day, it will glow for 24 hours straight.
