Chicago broke seasonal temperature records, with the chill bottoming out at 7 degrees Tuesday, and Windy City weather was still hovering around 20 degrees Wednesday afternoon. In Detroit, which was buried by nearly 10 inches of snow to open the week, meteorologists forecast a Wednesday high of 24 degrees.

Another weak snow pattern looked poised to sweep through the Midwest, Walker said, coming down from the Dakotas across the region into Michigan to drop an inch or two of snow.
