DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - An investigation found no animal abuse at an Iowa state senator’s hog farm despite video posted by an animal rights group that appeared to show pigs suffering, authorities said.
Two people with Direct Action Everywhere, a Berkeley, California-based group, entered a hog farm last spring owned by Republican state Sen. Ken Rozenboom, whose family farms near Oskaloosa.
“The investigation did not indicate there was any abuse,” Mahaska County Sheriff Russell Van Renterghem told the Des Moines Register.

Chelsea Hamilton, an Iowa Department of Agriculture veterinarian, inspected the facility last month and said she found no grounds to support livestock neglect.
