Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) on Sunday accused Senate Republicans of having "predetermined" the outcome of an upcoming hearing related to sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Murray said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that Republicans on the Judiciary Committee have made the hearing a "he said, she said" by not calling for an FBI investigation or for testimony from witnesses other than Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.
“The way the Senate Republicans have now set this up, that is what we’re going to have. Do you believe her or do you believe him? That is exactly why we have been pressing for an FBI investigation that should only take a few days, so there are other facts out there — that there are other witnesses," Murray said.
“The Senate Republicans have predetermined the outcome that this will be a he said, she said by taking that away," Murray added.
Kavanaugh and Ford could both testify this week in front of the Judiciary Committee. Ford's lawyers and committee staff struck a tentative deal Saturday that would have her testify on Thursday.
