Posted By TheNewsCommenter: From Nydailynews.com: “RJ Barrett went extremely hard in the Rising Stars Game”. Below is an excerpt from the article.

That’s what happened when the Knicks’ rookie missed a corner three in Saturday’s Rising Stars Game, only to chase down his former Duke teammate, Zion Williamson, and strip him on a fast break immediately after the miss.

Barrett finished with 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field to go with six rebounds, five assists and three steals on the night. But that moment is one both he and Williamson will remember forever.

“I don’t even know if it was him, but somebody on the court was talking trash, and then I missed it,” Barrett said after the game. “So when I saw him running I was like nah, he’s not about to dunk it.”

“When he stopped me on that fast break, I kind of was like, ‘man you’re the last person I thought would do that,’” Williamson added. “But it was all fun and games because he basically let me get the next one. I mean it’s just brothers messing around.”

Barrett’s hustle was the extreme exception in the Rising Stars Game, where teams do not play defense. The quarters are only 10 minutes, yet both teams got up more than 100 shots. Both teams shot better than 50% from the field, and Team USA won by 20 despite not blocking a shot all game.
