Kew Gardens Hills: Re your Nov. 9 editorial “We like Mike": The road from Gracie Mansion to the White House is a dead end for New York City mayors. John Lindsay was crushed in a 1972 presidential primary and delusional de Blasio dropped out after gaining zero traction this year. But New York City Police Commissioner Theodore Roosevelt was elected vice president and inaugurated as president in 1901. Why doesn’t soon-to-be ex-Police Commissioner Jimmy O’Neill give it a try? Richard Reif

Beechhurst: Re “We like Mike”: Like most Americans, I don’t like Mike Bloomberg because of that billionaire’s anal-retentive nanny-state tendencies. But given that he’s opposed to the load-of-crap economic proposals being dished out by that white-haired Huck Finn of American socialism and that Massachusetts schoolmarm scolder of corporate regulation, his entry into the Democratic presidential sweepstakes would be a welcome event. Sleepy Joe plainly doesn’t have what it takes to steer the Democratic Party back to normalcy. But my bet is that Mr. Monotone would fare no better at saving that party from its suicidal socialist slide. James Hyland

Brooklyn: The political establishment, both Republican and Democrat, doesn’t want someone like Bernie Sanders for president. He’s been called a socialist, leftist, liberal and a borderline communist. When Trump gave a huge tax cut for big corporations, even though the federal government spent more money than it brought in last year, that wasn’t a handout. But Sanders spreading the money around? Helping the little guy, the poor and the homeless by putting more tax money aside for them is a handout? Robert Romeo

Howard Beach: Having listened to Bernie Sanders’ speeches, I’ve come to realize his initials, B.S., represent his campaign. Louise Price

Manchester, N.J.: Re Voicer Christine Ierardi’s letter: I’m in total agreement. If any financial help is needed, I would be most happy to purchase an orange jumpsuit for the thief-in-chief. My extreme pleasure. Alan Berman
