Police were called to the home of Boris Johnson and his young girlfriend in the early hours of Friday morning after the pair were involved in a blazing row in which she was heard shouting 'get off me, get out of my flat'.

Downstairs neighbours called police to Carrie Symonds' south London flat in a converted Victorian house over the loud altercation between Mr Johnson and his 31-year-old lover.

The incident, which emerged last night, could rock the Tory frontrunner's bid for power just four weeks before a new prime minister is decided.

A recording of the row reveals Mr Johnson, 55, who lives at his partner's flat, shouted at Miss Symonds to 'get off my f***ing laptop' before a loud crashing noise was heard. Last night, MPs said Mr Johnson may seek an injunction to suppress any attempt to release the recording.

Miss Symonds, who Mr Johnson is said to be hoping to marry after he left his second wife, was heard complaining that he had spilled red wine on her sofa. She then said: 'You just don't care for anything because you're spoilt. You have no care for money or anything.'
