Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Sunday dismissed Democratic calls for a compromise on the next round of COVID stimulus.

Pelosi said that the calls from Democratic lawmakers to compromise with Republicans are not significant enough to push her to compromise. "Welcome to my world. That is not a lot of messages although I respect each and every one of them," Pelosi told Jake Tapper on State of the Union.

Tapper asked Pelosi about a letter sent by three Democratic governors to Pelosi and the Trump administration asking them to agree on a new stimulus package. "We implore you to put differences aside and agree to another, much-needed COVID-19 relief bill," the governors wrote. Rep. Max Rose (D., N.Y.) also said that Democrats should accept the compromises they have reached and vote to pass the deal.

Pelosi downplayed the calls and said that Democrats still want an agreement to be reached. "We all want an agreement. Nobody wants it more than the House Democrats," she said.

Hopes for another stimulus agreement are dimming as lawmakers continued to disagree over the size and scope of another bailout package. Pelosi blamed the Trump administration for not being on the same page as congressional Republicans while President Trump accused Pelosi of stalling the talks for the Democrats' political benefit.
