It is unclear how many passengers were on board or what airline was involved, but A320's typically have around 180 seats. 

An Airbus A320 similar to this was travelling south of Edinburgh when it narrowly missed a high-flying drone this summer. The airline involved in the incident is not known

The incident was reported to air traffic control and aviation body Airprox has now said the risk of collision at 7000ft was 'very high' and that only luck prevented potential disaster.

The plane continued on its journey but the near miss has now been classed at 'grade A', among the most dangerous.

The Airprox report revealed the incident happened in August this year as the plane flew above the village of Dewar in the Scottish Borders.
