“Comedian” Leslie Jones took aim at the new abortion laws in Alabama and Georgia on Saturday Night Live’s 44th season finale — declaring them a “war on women.”
It was one of multiple skits that protested pro-life legislation.
The painfully unfunny skit on the “Weekend Update” began with Jones joining the set while dressed as a handmaid from The Handmaid’s Tale. She soon stripped out of the costume though to reveal a t-shirt with “Mine” written across her chest and an arrow pointing at her crotch.
Jones complained that 25 white men had passed pro-life votes by saying that they “look like mugshots of everyone arrested at a massage parlor.”
“You can’t control women because, I don’t know if y’all heard, but women are the same as humans,” she continued. “Why do all of these weird ass men care what women choose to do with their bodies? I don’t care what you do with your 65-year-old droopy ass balls.”
“When women have a choice, women have freedom,” she continued, before asserting that there is a “war on women.”
The show didn’t stop complaining about the abortion laws here. They were also brought up during the opening number, where Kenan Thompson portraying Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas declares that “women are screwed” and during a skit mocking the view.
Joy Behar, portrayed by Kate McKinnon, took aim at the male senators by saying, “they’re so concerned with what happens to a six-week fetus because they all look like one — blobby nothings with beady eyes and big foreheads. They’re like, ‘Oh my god. It’s me.”‘
