At the Mobile World Congress gathering in Los Angeles this week, chipmaker Nvidia unveiled a series of partnerships that leverage its new technology in the connectivity space. Here are some of the ways Nvidia is looking to empower edge-computing services to benefit telecoms: Business Insider Intelligence

Network operators need to adopt edge processing and virtualized RAN solutions to keep up with the increasing demands placed on their networks. Some network operators have already developed GPU-based solutions to meet anticipated network demands: Verizon, for instance, developed its own GPU solutions to add edge capabilities to 5G nodes. Nvidia is leveraging its GPU expertise to drive value in the telecoms space, knowing that the network demands of the future leave little room for forgone opportunities to drive efficiency.
