House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday called on friends or family to speak to President Trump about his self-destructive behavior after he walked out of a meeting about a $2 billion infrastructure plan in a fit of pique over Democratic investigations.
“Again, I pray for the president of the United States. I wish that his family, or his administration, or his staff would have an intervention for the good of the country,” Pelosi told reporters.
Pelosi said Trump “pounded the table” and stomped out of the room without talking to Democratic leaders as planned.

Pelosi noted that Trump kept reporters out of the meeting after he was embarrassed himself at a previous meeting with Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Television cameras at that meeting captured Trump taking credit for the unpopular government shutdown, undercutting his later attempts to blame the Democrats.
I was extremely calm yesterday with my meeting with Pelosi and Schumer, knowing that they would say I was raging, which they always do, along with their partner, the Fake News Media. Well, so many stories about the meeting use the Rage narrative anyway - Fake & Corrupt Press!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 23, 2019
