The subpoenas were issued for testimony and documents related to the Judiciary Committee’s investigation into the non-existent obstruction of justice by Trump.
“The redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report documented alarming misconduct and obstruction of justice by President Trump. Donaldson and Hicks were critical witnesses to this behavior,” the Judiciary Committee said in a statement.
Hicks and Donaldson must produce documents to the panel by early next month — Hicks is to testify June 19 and Donaldson must appear for a deposition on June 24, reported NBC News.
Earlier Tuesday, Nadler dropped the gavel and held a hearing even though former White House Counsel Don McGahn was a no-show and defied a congressional subpoena.
