Media Hungry AOC Tells Constituents to Follow Her On Twitter Because She Has, Like, So Little Time For Them

She was busy Thursday night starring on a late-night talk show, where she’s been a regular. Last week she was in Austin, Texas, for South by Southwest, where she treated like a rock star. And when she’s not doing fashion shoots wearing $3,500 worth of clothes or sitting for cover stories for Time magazine, she’s hob-nobbing with celebrities, who can’t get enough of her.

So Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the latest darling on the liberal media, doesn’t have much time to, uh, like, you know, totally do her job.

On Thursday, the 29-year-old bartender-turned-politician “tried to explain her lack of office hours by saying she’s still taking ‘baby steps’ — but said constituents who can’t work with her sporadic schedule should follow her on Twitter,” the New York Post wrote.

Yes, all those pesky constituents can just follow her social media feed. That oughta’ suffice.

The Post also said AOC is falling down on other parts of her job.

Almost three months after her inauguration, the freshman congresswoman only recently opened a Queens office and still doesn’t have one in the Bronx.

Instead, on Thursday, she appeared at the Westchester Square Library for just two hours during the workday, where she met with 17 locals.

“Right now we’re just taking these baby steps and adapting according to community feedback,” the 29-year-old told The Post when asked why her brief availability was in the middle of the day.

Oddly, the Democratic socialist who wants to do away with cars and planes and farting cows can find plenty of time to appear on TV shows. She had that wonderful, like, yeah, for sure, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.

Of course she’s been on Stephen Colbert’s hyper liberal show. And Thursday, she sat down with Seth Meyers. So she’s got plenty of time — just not much for her constituents.

So, yeah, uh, she said part of the problem is, like, security concerns.

“Due to safety reasons I’m not allowed to, so Capitol Police, uh, yeah, it’s intense, so, Capitol Police recommend that we don’t give specific details about where we will be and when too far in advance,” she told The Post.

Not exactly so, according to one House aide, said The Post.

The Capitol Police said it wouldn’t comment on its “consultations” with “Member offices on security-related matters,” but a Democratic House aide said the cops “have nothing to do with the decision to have a public schedule or not.”

But she has so much to say. At the South by Southwest conference, the Democratic socialist made headlines by ripping Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal as racist, railed against Ronald Reagan’s policies (also racist) and expressed her disgust for capitalism.

“The most important thing is the concentration of capital, and it means that we prioritize profit and the accumulation of money above all else, and we seek it at any human and environmental cost… But when we talk about ideas like democratic socialism, it means putting democracy and society first, instead of capital first; it doesn’t mean that the actual concept of capitalistic society should be abolished,” she said.

Maybe AOC should, like, you know, read some more, uh, books on socialism.
