A well-known transgender rights advocate was one of two women fatally stabbed inside her Boston home on Sunday, police said.

According to The Boston Globe, 42-year-old Jahaira DeAlto — a tireless LGBTQ activist and  sexual abuse survivor — was helping a couple and their two kids who were staying with her at her Dorcshester apartment.

Police were called to DeAlto’s home around 12:30 p.m. Sunday after 34-year-old Marcus Chavis called 911.

“The first officers to arrive met Mr. Chavis as he was coming out of the house,’' Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Ian Polumbaum said in court. “He had blood on him, he was agitated, and he was distraught.”

Inside the apartment they found the DeAlto’s body with “sharp force injuries” to her neck. Another woman, 27-year-old Fatima Yasin, Chavin’s wife, had also been stabbed.
