Japan Lights Up Tokyo Skytree in Stars and Stripes in Honor of President Trump and First Lady Melania’s Historic Visit

United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are visiting Tokyo, Japan, in the first state visit of a foreign leader in the country’s Reiwa era.

The Reiwa Era began on 1 May 2019, the day on which Emperor Akihito’s elder son, Naruhito, ascended the throne as the 126th Emperor of Japan.

President Trump will meet with Emperor Naruhito and attend a sumo wrestling tournament during their visit.

In honor of the US President’s historic visit Japan lit up the famous Tokyo Skytree in stars and stripes.
