The last Sunday service at Gospel Missionary Baptist Church was bathed in tears and lifted by song as congregants marked the last service at their beloved Harlem house of worship on W. 149th St.

After a year-long legal battle, the congregation was unable to overturn an eviction order served by developers that manage the condominiums above the church.

“This is God’s will, so y’all don’t get upset,” urged the Rev. James Wilson during his sermon, addressing some 50 worshipers who’d come to mark the end of an era.

“We must trust God, because he alone is the way. It may seem hard, but march on,” he declared to applause and shouts of agreement from the pews.

“I feel very sad,” said Mary Fields, 52, who got married to her husband Edward at the church’s previous location in 1991. Now she’s in the choir with her children. “My family grew up here . . . We have a lot of memories.”
