A conservative political nonprofit launched a $2.5 million ad campaign Tuesday promoting the Republican tax legislation effort.
The American Action Network, a right-leaning political advocacy group, introduced a new 30-second television spot that it said will run in 23 districts of House Republicans.
The advertisement hits many of the Republicans' talking points for tax reform: It features a Wisconsin couple, one a small business owner, touting the benefits of a simpler code, ending loopholes, and tax relief for families in the form of "real tax cuts."
The ad is just the latest outside effort to boost the Republican tax reform effort, even before the Trump administration and Republican leaders have announced a plan or introduced legislation.
It will air in the districts both of conservative members, such as House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, and of centrists who might need encouragement to vote for a politically tricky bill, such as Rep. John Katko of New York.
