A Georgia mom is under fire for hosting hundreds of teens in a massive homecoming party where few virus precautions were in place.

The pandemic-defying extravaganza in the Atlanta suburb of McDonough was optional and not affiliated with Ola High School, but the event was widely promoted on social media and drew about 250 students on Nov. 14, local news outlets reported this week.

Several party-goers said there were few masks in sight and very little social distancing — a reckless scene that flies in the face of repeated warnings against large gatherings.

“Just because it’s not affecting you or you don’t… experience the symptoms, doesn’t mean that you’re not a carrier to other people who may experience the pandemic even worse,” student Chukwudumbbi Ejikeme told WSB-TV.

The woman who hosted the homecoming bash and sold tickets for it defended her decision, calling mask-wearing rules a form of child abuse.
