Authorities in Georgia are investigating a medical emergency at an Atlanta-area high school where four students became sick after ingesting “an unknown substance" on Friday morning.
The students were taken to locals hospitals, but their condition was not immediately known, Henry County Schools said in a statement.
The incident happened at Locust Grove High School, about 35 miles south of Atlanta. It was also not clear where the students ingested the substance or what it might be.
“There is a further investigation underway into the matter, but the most important thing at this point is the health and wellbeing of the students needing medical attention,” the district said.
The parents of the students have been notified and classes proceeded as scheduled, according to the statement.
