South Korea’s Supreme Court upheld a 20-year prison sentence Thursday for former president Park Geun-hye after she was convicted of corruption and abuse of power.

Park, 68, became the first woman president of South Korea in 2013, but she was impeached and removed from office in March 2017.

Park was convicted of taking bribes from multiple major Korean companies, including Samsung. She was also convicted of working with longtime friend Choi Soon-sil to pressure businesses to give them more than $70 million.

Since October 2017, Park has not appeared at her court hearings. She says they’re a political revenge stunt.

Park was not present at Thursday’s hearing, where the Supreme Court of Korea upheld a 20-year prison sentence that would keep her locked up into her late 80s, the Associated Press reported.
