A former pro hockey player and a criminal-justice advocate were found slain in a California condo in a killing now being investigated as a double homicide, according to reports.

Wendi Miller, 48, and Darren Partch, 38, were found dead on Sunday night when Partch’s roommate walked into their Newport Beach condo and discovered both of the bodies, KTLA reported.

The pair were last seen at a bar in Laguna Beach together at about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, and friends told the television station that Miller was going to give Partch a ride back to his place.

Police believe their slayings were an “isolated incident” and that there’s no threat to people in the area.

Partch played minor-league hockey around the country, including for the San Diego Gulls, the news website Patch reported.
