Posted By TheNewsCommenter: From Checkyourfact.com: “FACT CHECK: Does This Video Show A Meteor Hitting The Baltic Sea In August 2022?”. Below is an excerpt from the article.

The video is from a digital effects artist on YouTube. The caption discloses that the video was digitally fabricated.

Mauna Loa and Kilauea, two volcanoes in Hawaii, have erupted simultaneously, making this the first dual eruption since 1984, CBS News reported. Lava flow from the volcanic eruptions is slowly moving towards a critical highway that could cut off transportation on the Big Island, according to CNN.

A Facebook video appears to show a meteor streaking across the sky before crashing into the ocean, causing a large explosion and a ripple in the waves. The vertical video features dark skies, a barking dog and a siren sounding.

“Meteor hits Baltic Sea?” the caption reads. “It happened in August 2022 in Germany…” The video was also shared on Twitter, where it garnered over 1,900 retweets.

There is no evidence for this claim. Check Your Fact found no credible news reports suggesting that a meteor struck the Baltic Sea in August 2022.  (RELATED: Does This Photo Show An Asteroid That Passed By Earth This Month?)
