Posted By TheNewsCommenter: From Nydailynews.com: “During ‘time of unrest,’ Dolly Parton will read children’s books on weekly YouTube series”. Below is an excerpt from the article.

Dolly Parton will be introduced to a newer and younger generation when she kicks off her weekly series in which she reads a children's book to an online audience at bedtime.

The 75-year-old country music icon will draw books from her popular Imagination Library project with the goal to give kids and families “a welcome distraction during a time of unrest and also inspire a love of reading and books.”

Titled "Goodnight With Dolly," the readings will be streamed on YouTube and elsewhere starting on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

The first book in the series is Watty Piper’s empowering classic “The Little Engine That Could.”

With the coronavirus crisis suspending the school year for millions of children, Parton’s stories present another online resource for parents and kids alike.
