Police have arrested the man they say strangled a 92-year-old woman on a Queens street in a shocking, unprovoked attack, cops said Friday.

The 21-year-old suspect confessed to killing victim Maria Fuertes after he was picked up by police early Friday and charged with murder, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.

“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the @NYPD106Pct Detectives and Queens South Homicide Squad, I’m pleased to announce that we’ve taken this suspect into custody,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison wrote on Twitter.

Investigators say the man attacked Fuertes on 127th St. near 103rd Road in South Richmond Hill, around the corner from her home, just after midnight Monday.
