Police have arrested a New Jersey dump truck driver they say fatally struck a 21-year-old man on a Bronx highway more than three months ago, officials said Thursday.

Miguel Hernandez, 32, is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to show police his ID for the Aug. 29 hit-and-run on the Cross Bronx Expressway that left Ronald Nival dead.

Nival, 21, was on the expressway near the White Plains Road exit in Parkchester when he was struck by Hernandez’s dump truck just after 2:30 a.m., according to cops. He died at the scene.

Hernandez, who was working for a dump truck company from Saddlebrook, NJ, rolled off, leaving Nival crumpled in a heap on the asphalt.

He drove back to Saddlebrook, informed his boss he may have struck someone and was questioned that day by police but wasn’t criminally charged until Thursday.
