Hillary Clinton said that "maybe there does need to be a rematch" between her and President Donald Trump in 2020.
The former secretary of state appeared with her daughter Chelsea on PBS NewsHour on Tuesday after sparring with Trump on Twitter. Despite her loss in 2016 and Trump's victory in Rust Belt Democratic strongholds, Clinton insisted she could win "again" in 2020.
Trump mocked the former first lady in a Tuesday morning tweet for her historic loss in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton responded on Twitter, hinting that the GOP president was causing her to consider running again.
Clinton, who spent hundreds of millions of dollars on two failed presidential campaigns, often complains about the outcome of the 2016 election. In a September interview with CBS, Clinton said "many funny things" prevented her victory in 2016. In the same interview, she voiced support for an impeachment investigation against Trump.
Clinton has also been claiming since May 2017 that voter suppression in Wisconsin denied her the presidency. The left-leaning fact-check site PolitiFact has rated this claim "pants on fire," its worst possible rating.
