Posted By TheNewsCommenter: From Nydailynews.com: “Boy, 12, leaves tearjerker note with puppy he dropped off at shelter”. Below is an excerpt from the article.

The 12-year-old, identified as Andrés, left his pit bull puppy at a shelter, Xollin, in Mexico’s Michoacan state last week on Feb. 13, according to a story Xollin shared on its Facebook page.

The pit bull was dropped off in a box, including a stuffed animal and a note, in which the boy explained why he had to make the tough decision to part ways with the tiny dog.

“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old,” the note read, according to CNN’s translation Friday. “My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him.

“I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me,” the note concluded with two drawn sad faces.

At the time of publication, Xollin’s post had been shared 700 times and received more than 1,700 reactions.
