Iesha Thies of Mays Landing, N.J., was pronounced dead at AtlanticCare Medical Center after she was ejected from a small boat and stuck a propeller, stated New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper Charles Marchan.

The boat’s operator at the time of the accident, Arthur Lesbriel, has been charged with boating under the influence while the vehicle’s owner, Robert Pruchniki could be legally liable for allowing Lesbriel to operate the boat, reported nj.com.

The 18-foot boat was sailing near Galloway Township when Thies, 39, was taken to a Coast Guard Station Sunday night.
