Posted By TheNewsCommenter: From Nypost.com: “Asteroid the size of a skyscraper to hurl past Earth: NASA”. Below is an excerpt from the article.

The space rock, Asteroid 2000 QW7, is roughly between 951 and 2,132 feet long according to NASA. The larger estimation would make it the second tallest building on the planet, behind only Dubai’s Burj Khalifa — which reaches 2,717 feet.

Another smaller asteroid, 2010 C01, will also be making a flyby this weekend. Though they may be a little close for comfort for some, the space agency says there is nothing to fear.

“Both of these asteroids are passing at about 14 lunar distances from the Earth, or about 3.5 million miles away, but small asteroids pass by Earth this close all the time,” Lindley Johnson, a planetary defense officer at NASA said in a press release.
