More people need to be investigated for Ahmaud Arbery’s murder, his mother said during a march for her dead son Saturday.
Wanda Cooper-Jones led a silent march of hundreds of people in Brunswick, Ga. with Arbery’s father. She said that walking 2.23 miles mirrored some of the effort she’s had to go through to get justice for Ahmaud.
“It gives me strength because at one point in the very beginning I was really weak – because I didn’t think justice would ever come – but seeing that I have the support I have others thousands of people nationally and internationally that are standing with me and my family it means a lot,” she told WJXT-TV.
Georgia police said they do not expect any more arrests in the case, but Cooper-Jones said there are “other parties” that should be investigated, WJXT reported. She did not name names.
Cooper-Jones said she was pleased with the recent arrest of William “Roddie” Bryan, 50, who filmed the deadly Feb. 23 confrontation between the unarmed Arbery, and Gregory and Travis McMichael. Two months later, the McMichaels were arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges in Arbery’s death.
