ADMITTING DEFEAT: Democrats ALREADY Cancel Plans for Closing Night DNC Speech at Milwaukee’s Miller Park Stadium

The Democrat Party has already canceled their plan to hold their closing night DNC speeches in an outdoor stadium in Milwaukee in July.

They know they can’t fill it.
Their Socialist candidates are just not that exciting.

The Milwaukee BizJournals reported:

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, who months ago reached out to the Milwaukee Brewers about Miller Park’s availability for closing night of the Democratic National Convention, now says the Democratic presidential nominee will give his or her acceptance speech indoors at Fiserv Forum.

Agreeing with Barrett in that assessment is Joe Salmonese, CEO of the Democratic National Convention Committee that will run the July 2020 convention.

Barrett contacted the Brewers about Miller Park’s availability and the Brewers said in March they would explore whether it would be possible to host the final day of the convention Thursday, July 16, 2020. The event would echo Barack Obama in 2008 giving his acceptance speech to a crowd of 80,000 at Invesco Field, which at the time was the name of the home stadium of the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

Miller Park is a larger venue with a capacity of 41,900 for baseball compared with 17,500 for basketball at Fiserv Forum, which is the 2020 DNC’s anchor venue.

“My guess right now is it’s still very much at Fiserv — I think it’s going to be at Fiserv,” Barrett said Thursday at the Milwaukee Business Journal’s DNC Flash Forum. “If I were a betting person, I would say absolutely Fiserv.”

The possibility of the Democrats holding Obama’s acceptance speech at a football stadium also arose in 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Plans for the event at the Carolina Panthers’ home field Bank of America Stadium were scuttled due to a forecast for thunderstorms.

Solmonese said during Thursday’s Milwaukee Business Journal event at The Pfister Hotel he doesn’t anticipate a repeat of a football stadium — or baseball stadium — scenario.

“I think for a bunch of reasons it will make the most sense for this to be at Fiserv Forum Thursday night,” Solmonese said.
