A substitute teacher at a Texas high school was fired Friday after video captured her in an apparent altercation with a student.

The alleged incident was recorded and shared via social media by other students in the room at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas. In the video, the substitute teacher, who police identified as Tiffani Shadell Lankford, appears to be repeatedly hitting the student before throwing her onto the ground and stomping on her head.

In another video, the unnamed student appears to take a swipe at Lankford at the beginning of the altercation.

Lankford was fired on Friday and arrested by Hays County Sheriff's Office. KVUE reported that she has been charged with aggravated assault, which is a second-degree felony.

"This afternoon, we fired one of our guest teachers for hitting and fighting with a student," Principal Karen Zuniga wrote in a statement posted to Facebook. "Under no circumstance is that behavior tolerated at Lehman High School or in Hays CISD."
