More than 2 million people across parts of Oklahoma and Texas were given a “level 5,” “high risk” warning for tornadoes Monday.

“An outbreak of tornadoes, some potentially long-track and violent, is expected today into this evening over portions of northwest Texas into western and central Oklahoma,” the National Weather Service (NWS) announced on its site.

Surrounding parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas may be at risk for tornadoes, destructive winds and hail, NWS said.
